Dog Meets the Goat

A navy family, who were also flood victims, had to give up their 1 y.o. purebred Miniature American Eskimo. They could not afford to care for him properly time or $-wise due to their housing situation.

He is very pretty. I took him in thinking I would find him another home. Well, in less than 24 hours, he won all of our hearts over and now has a permanent home as long as he keeps doing as well as he is. He is fully housebroken which was a blessing. I had shots here, so he's had those now. I have him on heartworm preventative now too. He's sweet, outgoing and very affectionate. His breed is fairly intelligent so we have already been able to teach him a few tricks. I love working with the intelligent breeds.

His name is Bodie and he does not yet know what a tom cat is. I heard a bark, a warning hiss from Tom Tom, a yelp and scampering paws on wood flooring yesterday evening...so he's getting a few lessons.

When we brought Bess in to milk her, he thought she was a large dog. He went prancing up to her, wagging his tail...very excited to see this new dog. He took one sniff and went nuts! I had a very confused, frightened dog and a highly irritated goat on my hands. She was ticked off by his barking and tried to headbutt him.

I got fed up and fussed at both of them and then they decided it was in their best interest to call a truce.

Update: Bodie started showing aggression to our other pets. We found him a new loving home where he is the only pet.
