February 2006

Here's Pepper, our Ferret.
They say there are two kinds of ferrets, the cuddle kind and the playful kind.
Pepper is definitely of the playful persuasion.

Our Wednesday night Proverbs Bible study.
You'll notice Caleb has one sock on and one off. It's his trademark. ;-)
Bethany is wearing a sleeper so we can keep her feet covered. She has never liked socks!
We were discussing how to obtain wisdom.

Shysie 6 days before due date.

Shysie on 2/7/2006, 1 day before due date.
We call her our big little dog.

Shysie keeping watch over Bethany while she naps.
Guarding a napping child is just her speed right now.

Clint calls these "pot holes" in our kitchen floor. LOL This is where the floor is quickly degrading from Hurricane Isabel's flooding.
We plan to start tearing it out as soon as it gets warm enough depending on what we hear from FEMA on the elevation grant this month.

Joshua and Caleb having fun sorting through a clutter basket and putting the things in the right places.
They like to race each other.

Bethany, 2, joyfully helping clean house. It CAN be taught, but it has to be modeled!

Clint splitting wood with his new woodsplitter.

This is the wood pile Caleb, Joshua, Amanda, Brandon and Wendy surprised Clint with on Valentine's Day.

Joshua splitting wood.
The van is what we keep our trash in until we can run it to the convenience center.
It keeps the wild animals from tearing into it.

Caleb waiting his turn at the wood splitter with Chloe.

Caleb splitting a thick log with Clint's assistance.

Bethany waiting her turn.

Bethany splitting a log.

Barnyard cats provide a valuable service where we live.

Joshua helping load wood on the cart to be stacked on the wood pile.
That's Nala behind him.

Brandon, Amanda, and I split this wood to go the extra mile in helping Clint out.
You can see the first stack in the right hand corner
Clint was very surprised and pleased!

This is the kindling Joshua, Caleb and Bethany picked up.

Sofistacat's Kodiac

Some days you never do get that other sock on!
I thought fellow mothers would enjoy this picture.
About 3:45 p.m., I looked down today 2/22 and realized I never got to put the other sock on!
After I got out of bed this morning it was one busy moment after another.
People who say they can't find enough to do as a stay at home mother just have no idea of what it is like
or how busy it gets!

Chocolate Lab 7 weeks foundation stock to be bred with Jack, our black Lab.
Clint finally settled on Cocoa Pebbles as her name. We'll call her Pebbles.

We think she's beautiful and we adore her already. If you ignore her,
she'll bark to get your attention or put her paw on your foot like "Hey, play with me!"
