LOOK, I SEE IT Books
Children don't like long waits. For car trips, field trips, etc. make them a checklist of things to keep and eye out for. This will involve them in their travels and make them more aware of their surroundings. You will have to think of where & when you are traveling and tailor your list accordingly. You can let them use stickers or pencils to check off the list. This list of ideas is meant to get you started.
Older children's lists can be as long and detailed as you think they can handle (big red semi-truck). For smaller children who can't read yet, you can draw or paste in pictures of a shorter list of things for them to check off. To keep them interested, plan a reward at the arrival destination.
