Preschool Fun Recipes

One thing many parents are not aware of is that playdough will hold and spread germs.
For that reason, you need a new batch every so often. You can have your child create items to dry out using the old playdough.
Once dry, the germs will be killed.

Food coloring in all recipes is optional. It can stain carpets, clothing, upholstery and skin.

Best Playdough Recipe

Small Batch

1/2 cup salt

1 cup flour

1 tablespoon cream of tartar

1 tablespoon oil (olive, vegetable, etc works)

1 cup water

food coloring (1/4 to 1/2 normal sized bottle)

1 tsp essential orange oil (kills germs and adds scent) * Do not add this if you child will not follow your directions to not eat it.

Combine ingredients in a saucepan. Heat slowly while stirring with sturdy spoon. When dough is consistency you want, take off heat and allow to cool. Remove and store in plastic tubs or bags.
