Trail Bars

3 1/2 cups crisp toasted rice cereal (such as Rice Crispies)

1 cups dried cranberries

3 tbsp peanut butter

2 tbsp butter or margarine

7 cups (12 oz.) mini-marshmallows

1/3 cups sesame seeds

1/3 cups hulled sunflower seeds

1/3 cups chopped pecans or walnuts

1/3 cups chopped almonds.

1/3 cups unsweetened dried coconut

Toast nuts for a few minutes in 350 oven until sesame seeds are that pretty golden color. Watch carefully. It won't take long. In a 6 quart pot, combine peanut butter, butter and marshmallows. Stir over medium heat until melted and smooth. Add all remaining ingredients a little at a time, stirring quickly to incorporate it into the mix. Fold out into a greased 9 x 13 pan and press into bars. Store in airtight containers for up to 4 days.

 

I have skipped toasting the nuts before when I have been in a hurry.
